Coronavirus

Hope and Healing Social work and Counselling will remain open and operating as Australia continues to monitor how the Coronavirus situation is unfolding. This page will give you some information on how things are currently being managed.

Will there be any disruption to therapy sessions?

It is anticipated that there will be no further disruption to sessions unless there is another outbreak. Should Gabbey every be required to quarantine, she will offer telehealth appointments during this time. Should Gabbey become sick she may need to cancel your appointments at short notice and may then need to offer telehealth sessions until she is recovered.

Minimising the spread of infection:

The office is sanitised regularly to ensure that everyone visiting is kept safe. Disposable cups are now used for all water and hot drinks, whilst this is devastating for the environment it is essential at this time to minimise any spread of infection. Chairs have been set up to ensure 1.5m between individuals. To comply with social distancing there is a limit to the number of people allowed in the office at all times. There is hand sanitiser to use upon entry as well as once you are inside. Appointment times have been spread out to allow 15mins between each session. Please do not arrive more than 5mins early for your session to ensure the previous person has left.

What do you need to do?
Do not attend appointments if, in the last 14 days, you have experienced any of the following:
  • Fever
  • Sore Throat
  • Dry cough
  • Shortness of breath (not attributed to anything else, e.g. anxiety)
  • Contact with someone who has recently returned from overseas or from a COVID19 Hotspot
If you are awaiting COVID-19 test results, please do not attend the office until your results are returned, you can access telehealth sessions in the interim. Should Gabbey become unwell, or need to self-isolate appointments will be changed to telehealth or cancelled depending on the situation.
