Clinical Supervision
Clinical
supervision with Gabbey at Hope and Healing Social Work and Counselling offers
practitioners a safe and supportive space, outside of their workplace, to
reflect on their practice and to engage in learning which will further enhance
their skills, knowledge and expertise. Clinical supervision offers
practitioners an extra layer of support to help them navigate the complexities
that come with working in the human services field and it provides an external
third party to help objectively explore these complexities.
Gabbey offers the following supervision services:
- Individual supervision
- Group supervision (for a group of your peers, there are not currently pre-estabilised groups available to join)
- In house workshops and training on topics of your choice
- Individualised training for NDIS participants and their support teams
- Face to face or online supervision and training
Clinical Supervision with Gabbey
Gabbey is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker who has worked in the human services field on the Sunshine Coast since 2006. She has worked in many fields of practice including with families, youth, homelessness, domestic violence, mental health, field education, private hospital inpatient settings and more.
She has special interests and skills in working with personality disorders; attachment trauma; complex trauma; PTSD; suicidal ideation, self harm and suicide prevention; grief, loss and bereavement; veterans; and issues experienced by young people. Gabbey utilises a range of knowledge's, theories and skills to inform her supervision.
She is kind, caring, compassionate and supportive. She understands the challenges that come with providing front line support to vulnerable populations and is passionate about supporting other practitioners who are working in the helping professions as she has found such benefit in clinical supervision throughout her career. Her supervisory style will feel more like talking to a peer than someone who positions themselves as the expert and her beautiful office space will feel like a safe environment outside your workplace to further explore and develop your own skills and knowledge for practice. She uses real world language, informed by evidence based theories, knowledge's and skills because that is the kind of practitioner that she is – down to earth, relatable and yet good at what she does.
At Hope and Healing Social Work and Counselling clinical supervision can be provided either in person at the beautiful office space in Nambour or over Zoom. The Hope and Healing Social Work and Counselling office is a beautiful, welcoming and safe space for you to come and access supervision. At your initial session you will set out the plan for what you want to achieve from your sessions.
